She has had a stroke and is now an invalid. She is older than John was- past 80. Old age is a bitch.
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 5, 2020 2:20 AM |
Yoko hurt so many people in her lifetime I can’t feel bad for her.
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 5, 2020 2:27 AM |
I heard that she left one of those little poops that John used to take on the floor just where he plopped it, as a reminder of her beloved.
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 5, 2020 2:44 AM |
r10 couldn't come up with anything intelligent or true to say, so she pulled that out of her ass.

10 years ago a friend and I went to NYC and we were around the Dakota building. A Russian vendor across the street told us that he saw her fairly often. She would come over and stroll around and make small talk with him.
| by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 5, 2020 3:10 AM |
She's 87 years old and has had a stroke. Let her have her decline and death in peace.
| by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 5, 2020 3:30 AM |
Perhaps she'd feel better if someone could visit her and sing a song to her yoko-style.
| by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 5, 2020 3:32 AM |
Glad she has Sean. He sounds like a good and dedicated son.

According to Andy Warhol, in his Diary, Yoko would run around with John dressed as a hippie bohemian artiste and then the minute he died, she started dressing like a rich socialite.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 5, 2020 4:06 AM |
She spends her days playing bridge with Lara Louise.
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 5, 2020 5:01 AM |
It was the 80s. The hippie movement was over and greed was good.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 5, 2020 5:09 AM |
No! What will we do without her beautiful singing and music that only gets played in gay clubs?
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 5, 2020 5:09 AM |
Weren't both she and John horrible people?
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 5, 2020 5:15 AM |
“Sean is her best friend,” said Mintz. “They have dinner two or three times a week, and he occasionally brings his mom out as a guest star in his band.”
Did no one edit this story? Is she a shut-in or does she occasionally appear as a guest star in Sean’s band?

She is allegedly being held captive by a coven of satanists who keep her bedridden, feeding her chocolate mousse shakes.

I always loved this song by her. Galaxy 500 did a version that is really good.

She traveled to LA last year for a tribute at Disney Hall. She was wheelchair bound but all said she was shaking her head and rocking out with the performers and thoroughly loving it. She's had a great life and Sean and Kyoko are taking good care of her.

| by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 5, 2020 5:30 PM |
Caretakers are taking care of her, not Sean. She's filthy rich.
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 5, 2020 5:34 PM |
R35, he's still there, watching over her and I presume watching the caretakers. If you've been in that situation, it's not an easy thing to do. When you have a ton of money, just watching from a distance is much better.

[quote] If you've been in that situation, it's not an easy thing to do.
I have been in the situation of actually caring for a parent and personally know people who also have and it's not the same. So, I think I know what I'm talking about a little more than you or Sean.
| by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 5, 2020 5:44 PM |
So R37, you think you care more for your parents than Sean or I do? Fuck off.
| by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 5, 2020 5:46 PM |
When asked for comment, Ono said
Ai! Ai! Ai! Ai Ai! Ai Ai! Ai Ai! Ai Ai! Ai!
SCREAMMMMSSSSSSSSSSSSS
| by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 5, 2020 5:52 PM |
Don't lash out at me for your guilty conscience, r37. I really don't care about your parents or Yoko Ono, because they're your responsibility, not mine or someone paid to take care of them.
| by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 5, 2020 5:54 PM |
"I think I know what I'm talking about a little more than you or Sean." R37, how do you figure that you know more about taking care of parents than Sean Lennon, since you've never met him or his mother?
"When you have a ton of money, just watching from a distance is much better." R36, what does that even mean?
Lots of people here are full of shit.

She must be very ill to appear in public in a common wheelchair.. No more performance art from Yoko.

I'd love to see her interviewed by Barbara Walters.
| by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 5, 2020 6:47 PM |
Yea, that would sure be something to see, r44.
BARBARA: (gibbering and drooling as she stares off into space) "Hugh... Hugh Downs... Hawwy Weasoner...."
YOKO: "Aren't you going to ask me any questions?"
BARBARA: (still gibbering and drooling) "...Pwincess Diana..."
| by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 5, 2020 7:14 PM |
YOKO: "Ask me about John Rennon?"
BARBARA: "Who was John Wennon?"

The article says she had mentioned having an illness, but did not elaborate. Does anyone know for sure that she had a stroke (as well? Before? After said illness? I'm really curious what happened with her health. I always had the vibe from her that she'd be cruising along well into her 90s, just not cruising in a chair.
That oily queen Mintz is still flapping her gums, I see....

She’s lucky John died so soon otherwise he would have left her and his third or fourth wife would have inherited his fortune. Also because he probably beat her.

I saw her in January at a restaurant on the UES, she was very frail and had what looked like a nurse and some friends with her. She was still enjoying her meal and very alert and engaging, I actually met her int an event n around 2005 and she was wonderful in person. God bless,

I have to admit, I've always liked Yoko.
| by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 9, 2020 9:11 PM |
R53: IIRC, it was Yoko Ono who possessed the business/financial acumen and who, through shrewd investing, created the fortune that eventually became Lennon's estate. You can bet your bottom dollar she had ironclad protections in place should he have dissolved their marriage through divorce.
I wish you health and happiness, Yoko Ono.
| by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 9, 2020 9:37 PM |
I couldn't believe how pleasant and open she was when I met her. A woman of true intelligence. It was one of those times that I realized the press was full of shit. Lennon was able to relax himself and just be after the insanity of Beatles fame and she went off and turned his millions into big money, They were ahead of their time and true equals in every way.

[quote]r53 She’s lucky John died so soon otherwise he would have left her and his third or fourth wife would have inherited his fortune.
Mr. Lennon was a stoned recluse who was completely dependent on/obsessed with Ono. He never would have left her.
A friend of mine worked for them and said Ono was on the verge of leaving Lennon before he died ... then ironically ended up with everything. He said it was disgusting that she inherited this fake Widow Lennon persona, when in fact she was sick of him because his neediness was suffocating.

I had a friend who had a job walking YO's dogs in the early 80s. My friend was an artist and she considered it a kind of conceptual art project to be Ono's employee. We really kind of idolized her back then, the punk-New Wave scene. When the B52s' first record came out, John told Rolling Stone that him and Yoko hearing it in a bar, probably in Nassau, and its obvious references to Ono's singing style ("Rock Lobster"), were what inspired them to go back and record what turned out to be John's final LP, Double Fantasy. Kate and Cindy in the B's idolized her. My friend, who walked the dog, never said anything derogatory about YO. And I do like a lot of her music. "Walking on Thin Ice" is a fantastic track.

In '72 or maybe '73, she and Lennon co-hosted the Mike Douglas Show, a morning talk show. I stayed out of school for the whole week, called in "sick" so I could watch the shows. It was the only days I missed in 4 years of high school, due to "illness". My mother was home and she didn't care. I recall that the Plastic Ono Band performed "Instant Karma" on one of the shows, and I have this memory that Yoko was playing the piano part on kind of small, Farfisa-like electric piano. She was playing the part using only her bare feet. It was the acme of cool.

She came into the private courtyard of our building in Old Town Geneva in the 90s. It was odd to look down from our windows to see her there with a guy who had on a shiny red jacket that said Ono Band. They looked around then left
They had to open a large wooden door to enter so surely they knew they were trespassing. . My friend and I clutched our pearls not believing the audacity.
